Emily's 30th Birthday Bash

It is Emily's birthday tomorrow!  To celebrate, the Scheer family all gathered at Emily and Frank's house for a Halloween party.  It has been forever since I have seen them!  We spent the weekend eating yummy homemade treats, carving pumpkins, watching Halloween movies, and dressing up in costumes.

Emily decorated the house for Halloween with tons of spooky spider webs, bats, and scary posters.  It was very festive!

Emily has been gardening for a while now so we thought we would get her a present that she could use with all of her veggies.  We got her canning supplies!

We carved our pumpkins before it started to rain.

Starting the first course of our Halloween birthday dinner!

Alex was evil Captain Kirk and I was the Grim Reaper.

McNally was a bat!

Cupcake time!

We really enjoyed all of the costumes!

Six Flags Fright Fest

Alex and I went to Six Flags Fright Fest last night!  In October, Six Flags decorates the park for Halloween, plays scary music, and has tons of people dressed up like monsters who jump out of nowhere and scare and chase you!  I was terrified walking around!!  The park was so busy last night that it took us an hour to drive the one mile entrance into the park and the wait for every roller coaster was just over an hour and a half.  We had a spooktacular time!

At the entrance to the park!  They had a bunch of scary people around the red fountain in the middle.  It didn't turn out in the picture, but they had green spooky lights and cobwebs on all the trees!

They must have had a ton of fog machines because there was an eerie fog that engulfed the entire park and made it scary to walk through less well-lit areas.

Hopefully we can go back when it isn't as crowded :)

Vidant Medical Center

I had my first residency interview this weekend.  It was at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.  I drove down Friday night to make a four day weekend out of it.  The interview started with a dinner Sunday night at one of the residents' houses and then the big interview on Monday.  It went really well!  The residents were all very nice.  And as an added bonus, it turns out Elisabeth from college is going into ob gyn too and just happened to be at the same interview!  It was a great experience over all!

On Saturday, Mommy, Lisa and I went to a pumpkin patch!

My albino pumpkin!

Picking out a pumpkin!

We had a very yummy dinner at Grandma's house on Saturday.

ECU was nice enough to cover my hotel Sunday night!

Linvilla Orchards

We had so much fun at Linvilla Orchards last year, that we decided to go back again!  This October has been very rainy and the leaves have not begun to change colors yet so we needed a little festive in our lives.

Our first stop, of course, was the hot apple cider donuts and apple cider slushie booth!

Then we hit up the jalapeno poppers and mozzarella stix station.

We like to eat.

Pumpkinland!

I got my candy apple and jug of apple cider to go home with!

The newly-engaged were in the area and we lured them in with promise of hot donuts!
