Juicy

I have been on vacation this week!  It has been amazing waking up after sunrise and spending time outside.  Unfortunately, I take step 3 of the board exams next week and have spent the majority of my vacation trying to relearn all of the information I learned in medical school and have since forgot, whomp whomp.  Today, Alex and I made juice!  We used pineapple, kiwis, lemon, limes, apples, broccoli, and wheat grass.  It was a refreshing reward for a day of studying :)

Hoppy Easter 2014

Alex and I went to Cary for Easter this year.  We had the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Teresa and Jeff's house.  Alex, Shilpa and I were the official egg hiders this year.  Our eggs were so perfectly hidden (and our memory so poor), that four of them were never found!  It was fun watching the kids search for candy-filled eggs!  Sunday we had Easter dinner at Grandma's house.  It was a quick, but nice little trip!

It was cold and rainy outside, but that didn't stop us!

Lily was the first to find her limit of eggs.

 Proud of their catch!

The Easter Bunny still comes for 26 and 27 year olds :)

Moo and Moose

We were in charge of two Moosies this weekend.  Aishwarya asked us to watch her sister's dog for the night and we gladly said yes.  Her dog's name is Moose, which goes perfectly in our house with little Moo.  Moo loves to boss around dogs and Moose was perfectly happy to sleep in Moo's chair.  After a day of antagonizing each other, they both took a nap within a few feet of one another and it was super sweet.

Moose is a snuggler!

We took Moose to Freedom Park and had a picnic!

We had a fun time with the Moosies.

Grandad Scheer in Charlotte

Alex's Grandad was in town this past week for the Charlotte AutoFair 2014.  The AutoFair is the largest collector vehicle event in the Southeast and takes place on the Charlotte Motor Speedway.  Grandad drove down from Michigan to be a judge in the event.  We enjoyed having him in Charlotte and were able to spend his 77th birthday with him!  The weather cooperated this week and we showed him just how wonderful the South can be!

Alex was able to attend the AutoFair with Grandad's free passes.

We took Grandad out for some authentic southern barbeque at Queen City Q.

We went to Hickory Tavern for Grandad's birthday then over to Amelie's for dessert!

 Happy 77th birthday!

Grandad stayed with us Saturday night and we had our first cookout of the year!

My Chef

Last week I came home to the most amazing dinners.  I couldn't help but take pictures of them!  It is so nice to have such a wonderful chef in my family :)

Grilled Chicken, Spinach, Tomato and Avocado Sandwiches

We started this meal with amazingly yummy Bruschetta.

And then moved on to homemade Spiced Pommes Frites.

And finished the meal with Peppercorn Steak.

One night Alex decided to make homemade Honey Chicken and Buttermilk Waffles with Maple Syrup Ice Cream.

We usually eat Indian food about once a week.  Last week Alex made the entire dish from scratch!  We had Curry Chicken with Saffron Rice, Hummus and Cucumbers.

 Homemade Roquefort Gnocchi

I love coming home to Alex's dinners!
