Knights Night

We went to a Knights game tonight with Sean, Kate, Tyler and Kacey.  It was raining when we first arrived, but it cleared up quickly.  Our seats had a great view of the city!  We ran into Matt and Presley at the game too!  The Knights were losing the entire game, but won it on the last play with two home runs in a row.

Our beautiful view!

32 Weeks: Squash Baby

We are thirty-two weeks today and LB is similar in size to a plain old squash.  We already passed the acorn squash week :)  Fetuses at this gestational age are supposedly sleeping ninety to ninety-five percent of the time.  LB certainly is not one of those fetuses.  She kicks and punches all day long!  All of LB's organs are developed now, except for the lungs, which still need a good couple of weeks.

After failing the crap out of my one hour glucose screen, I passed the three hour glucose tolerance test with flying colors!  We had a glucose rich snack to celebrate :)

Harper's bookcase arrived today!  Now we have a place to display all of her little books.

Moo wanted to help build the bookcase too.

All finished and it looks great!

Him and Her Baby-Q

Kate and several of the ob residents threw me and Courtney a Him and Her Baby-Q Shower.  Buns in the oven, burgers on the grill :)  It was awesome!!  Everything was pink and blue in honor of Harper and Landon.  Kate and Sean grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and had a feast of yummy shower food.  It was the perfect way to celebrate the two newest residency babies :)  Kate organized, arranged and hosted the party even though she was on call this weekend!  We had a blast and feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful group of residents.

The pretty diaper cake with blue and pink duckies!

There was pink sparkling wine punch to represent baby girl Harper.

And blue sparkling lemonade to represent baby boy Landon.

There were pink and blue cupcakes and pretzels for dessert.

31 Weeks: Pineapple Baby

I am so excited for LB to be the size of a food I actually want to eat!  Happy pineapple week!  By thirty-one weeks, fetuses should have developed all five senses.  Their irises can even react to light now!  LB and I are doing well and keeping our fingers crossed to pass our glucose test this week!

Alex and I had a very exciting weekend.  Alex painted Harper's room a beautiful shade of gray.  It looks amazing!  Also, the couch we had ordered for upstairs finally arrived.  My back is very thankful not to have to watch television from the floor anymore.

This is our neighborhood's new art project.  We think it is supposed to represent the transition of a butterfly based on the looks of another one of these structures.  I think it looks like roller coaster pieces, very bizarre.

Harper's gray walls!  We made this custom color at Sherwin Williams based on the gray in Harper's sheets.

30 Weeks: Cucumber Baby

We are thirty weeks pregnant today.  Whoever picked cucumber for this gestational age was reaching.  Thirty week fetuses average about fifteen to seventeen inches in length and three pounds in weight.  It's not every day that you see a seventeen inch cucumber.  We finally picked up a few paint samples for Harper's room.  Hopefully we can find one we like!  One new fun game Alex and I play with LB is footsie.  It is easy to palpate her feet just under my ribs and when we poke her, she kicks us back!

 Happy thirty weeks!

Hiking Stone Mountain

Alex and I went hiking at Stone Mountain State Park today.  Stone Mountain is a six hundred foot granite dome that formed as wind and water eroded the softer layers of the granite block.  We picked the four and a half mile strenuous trail to conquer today and are now super sore and tired.  The weather was beautiful and the mountain was unlike anything we have seen before.  The majority of the surfaces were smooth from erosion.  We had awesome views of the surrounding mountains and finished the hike with a pretty waterfall.  It has been so fun living close to all of these amazing hiking trails.  Stone Mountain is only an hour and a half away from our house. It was a great way to spend a sunny spring day!

On top of the mountain!

 We love sunny days :)

 The views were amazing.

This was LB's second in utero hike!  The first was back in Asheville when she was only five weeks gestation!

We can't wait to bring Harper hiking in our baby carrier!

The view from the summit was beautiful!

These people were rock climbing!!

29 Weeks: Acorn Squash Baby

We reached twenty-nine weeks yesterday!  LB is now the size of an acorn squash.  Little fetuses at this gestational age are starting to pack on the baby fat.  They are nearly the length they will be at delivery, but their weight should double or even triple from now until the due date.

LB had her first set of noticeable hiccups this past weekend.  Alex and I are still having fun looking at all the wonderful shower gifts from Saturday :)  We washed LB's little baby clothes yesterday!

 Happy twenty-nine weeks!

Our Myers Park Ultrasound Technician did a 3D ultrasound for me today for fun.  LB is so cute with her chubby cheeks!  Her perfect long fingers look like future surgeon hands :)

 Hi Harper!

 Her little foot!

I know Harper will not use her high chair until around Christmas time, but we put it together anyway last night.  It is adorable!
