Scheer Parents Visit Charlotte

Alex's mom and dad were sweet enough to spend their vacation week with us in Charlotte.  They had not seen Harper since she was born!  I ended up having one of the least busy weeks of residency so far and was able to spend a lot of time at home with our visitors.  We had a great time making yummy food, playing board games, and watching Harper bond with her grandparents.  I know Alex loved having a few extra helping hands with the baby girl.  We are looking forward to their next visit!

Brunch is a major event in Charlotte.  We took Alex's parents to Tupelo Honey Cafe for this important meal.

Playing cards!  These three spent all week playing all sorts of games.

We made an awesome fondue dinner.

Brewery Babies

We spent Friday and Saturday night at different breweries in Charlotte.  Bringing your baby to a brewery in Charlotte is totally an acceptable thing to do and is quite common.  Harper loved the change of scenery!

Food Truck Friday

We took Harper to her first Food Truck Friday this weekend with Kate and Tyler.  The lines were crazy long and we ended up waiting forever!  Unfortunately, a storm rolled in and we had to leave before we even ordered   :(  Hopefully we will have better luck next time!

The girlies waiting in line!

 Hoping to beat the storm!

Music City

Alex, Harper and I went to Nashville earlier this week to visit Bay and Tessa.  Alex had never been before and with only a week left of maternity leave, we wanted to do something fun.  Harper went to her first restaurant, stayed in her first hotel, and swam in her first pool!  We had a great time!

Aunt Bay and the little one :)

Harper's first restaurant was a sushi place!  Good thing the music was loud so nobody could hear when she was fussy.

Snuggle time!

We went to Belmont to explore Tessa's school.  What a beautiful campus!

Posing with the bear and his silly paws!

We had the most amazing ice cream downtown.

Harper's first swim!  She loved it!

A little fishie in the making!

Alex and I explored downtown Nashville.  We went to see the famous Ernest Tubb Record Shop, which, oddly, only really sold CDs.

 Walking on Broadway Street!

We walked over the Pedestrian Bridge and had a great view of downtown Nashville.

Harper: 1 Month

Happy one month to Harper!  We cannot believe four weeks have gone by already.  Over the past month, Harper has grown considerably, started making cooing noises, is beginning to smile, continues to grow beautiful blond locks and has had a million firsts.  We have had the best time getting to know this baby girl and fall more in love with her every day.  The only thing that would make life more perfect would be if she could sleep more than two hours at a time :)

In preparation for my return to work, Alex and I fed Harper from a bottle for the first time a few days ago.  We were worried she wouldn't like the change, but it turns out she'll take her breast milk anyway it comes.  This gives daddy another way of bonding with the baby as well.

It only took four weeks, but Harper's umbilical stump finally fell off.  This means she can have tub baths!  She loved her tubbers!

To celebrate one month of our little girl, Alex and I took Harper to Amelie's.  We cannot believe Harper could sleep next to so many amazing French desserts!

Harper's first Amelie's trip!

 Sleepy girl

We bought a box of macaroons to celebrate.  I ate Harper's since she was sleeping.

Still sleeping, but dreaming of macaroons.

 Happy one month Harper!
