Thirty-Three Weeks: Celery Baby

I can't believe another week has gone by!  I have been on call a TON lately as I am making up all of the call days I am missing for maternity leave before I go out.  It is exhausting!  NB enjoys staying up with me during late nights at the hospital.  We hung the light fixture in NB's nursery and I love it!  His room has come together so nicely and we are almost completely finished.  The only shipment we are still waiting for is his toy basket.

Thirty-three weeks with NB.  Harper wanted to show Ethan her pony toys.  Our little girl has been potty training and is doing very well!  Potty training is fun when you have dinos on your undies!

Alex did a great job hanging the light.  It really ties in with the nautical theme.

I couldn't help myself and had to put the changing pad cover, mattress pad and crib sheet out.  They made the room feel even more ready!  We need to pick some books for the whale bookends on NB's shelf.

Dinosaur Exhibition at Discovery Place

It was raining in Charlotte for the large part of Memorial Day, so we decided to visit Discovery Place to see the Tyrannosaurus Exhibit.  Harper loves dinosaurs and has tons of dinosaur toys, but whenever we get up close and personal with reconstructed dinos, she gets a little nervous.  It didn't take long, luckily, before she was running around exploring and learning about one of the world's top predators!

Harps was a little uncertain about all of the dinosaur noises coming from the exhibit.

They had interactive screens with dinosaurs running through popular places in Charlotte.

Harper loved seeing herself on the big screen.  She took a couple of swats at the dinosaur images when they came into the picture.

Here comes a dinosaur!

Coca-Cola 600

The Coca-Cola 600 finishes off the greatest day in racing, so I have learned from Alex.  It is an annual 600 mile NASCAR Cup Series race held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway during Memorial Day weekend.  It is the longest NASCAR race of the season.  Alex and his dad had tickets this year and spent last night at the race!  Their amazing tickets allowed them entry onto the track to talk with pit crews and listen to the band.  They had a great time!

Their seats were very close to the track.  Alex was surprised how loud it was!

They were able to sign the finish line!

Down on the track with the pit crews!

They snuck into the garage area to watch officials check in cars before the race.

Black Hawk Helicopter

They had radios so they could listen to the drivers during the race.

Kyle Busch won the race!

Thirty-Two Weeks: Squash Baby

We are thirty-two weeks today.  It is another milestone in the obstetric world - I would no longer need IV magnesium to prevent preterm complications if I went into labor.  I had an appointment today with an ultrasound to check on NB.  He is in the thirtieth percentile and weighs three pounds, nine ounces.   His little head is down and ready to go.  He is predicted to be over seven pounds at birth if he keeps this up.

We played with the 3D probe today and saw NB's cute little cheeks!

Last Meow Before the Vow

We held Lisa's Bachelorette Party this weekend at Wrightsville Beach.  I feel like I have been planning this party for months!!  Unfortunately, it rained almost the entire weekend, but we still had a great time.  Lisa has been friends with the same group of girls since they were all eight years old.  It was nice too see how much fun they still have together and how much they care about Lisa.  The catch phrases of the party were "Lisa's Getting Meowied" and "Last Meow Before the Vow."  A cat theme was a must and our colors were mint and gold.  We are one wedding festivity closer to the big day!

I have been putting the bachelorette bags together since December.  We had little wine bottles with our own labels.

Nail polish

 Hair ties

Sunglasses

First aid kits - in sickness and in health!

I also put a toothbrush set, scope, sunscreen, sparklers, gum, tissues, a ring pop, gold necklaces, a granola bar, an energy drink and a personalized party tattoo in each bag in addition to the bachelorette tank top.

Our shirts!

We absolutely loved the house.  It had a gorgeous view of the bay and was a short walk from the beach.

All ready to party!

We had margaritas on arrival.

A few of us went on a quick walk to the beach before it started raining on Friday.

There was pizza for dinner Friday night.

Emily made a cake for dessert!

Lisa looked beautiful!  Sami brought a cat ears wedding headband for Lisa to wear.

Our tattoos!

We played games and watched Lisa open her presents.

We went out to local beach bars Friday night.

Saturday morning, we had a build your own yogurt and mimosa bar with donut breakfast.

We managed to catch an hour of sun on the beach!

All the girls!

We went out for dinner and drinks Saturday night.

We had a yogurt bar and bagels for breakfast on Sunday.  It was sad to leave, but we had a wonderful weekend.
