Sweet Endings, New Beginnings

We left the kids in Cary last weekend with Gigi and Poppy.  They had a blast!  They went to pools, playgrounds and the beach.  It was a fun way to end the summer.

Swimming at Grandma's pool!

Gigi, Poppy and the kids took a ferry over to Bear Island for the day.

Harper and Ethan loved all the playgrounds.  Cary does have great play spaces.

Harper had Amelia sleep over Thursday night.  They had been planning this sleepover for a while.  Amelia will be going to a different school this year, unfortunately.

Gummy sushi!

The kids went to Vincent's birthday party Saturday morning.  The play area had a coffee bar!

After the party, Harper went to White Water Center with Amelia and her family.  They did white water rafting and zip lines.

We met up with them afterwards for a concert.

The kids and I went to Camp North End Sunday morning to check out a new cookie place.

On the first day of school, we do treat cones!

Lu wanted her own cone.

Harper is in 5th grade and Ethan is in 2nd grade this year.

End of Summer

We did not sign the kids up for any camps in August so they have been keeping Alex busy.  They have been fishing, playing at indoor play spaces and at the park.  They have been reading new books and playing with new birthday toys.  This past weekend, we went to Cary to celebrate the late July birthdays with Gigi, Poppy and Grandma.

The kids both caught multiple fish!

Both kids had their hair cut last week.  Harper's hair dresser styled her hair in beautiful braids!

Lulu is worn out from the kids being home!

Lu did snuggle everyone on the way to Cary.

Happy birthday Ethan!

Ethan read a book he wrote to Grandma.

Ethan wanted breakfast for his birthday feast.

This baseball gift was a fan favorite.

Puppy Pup the cake!

We took the kids to Dix Park on Saturday in Raleigh.

It was a beautiful park, but we were super hot!

We got slushies after playing at the park.

We had hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner Saturday night.

Then went to Goodberries for dessert!  Harper and Ethan threw coins into the fountain and made wishes.

They are very serious about their wishes.

Lisa had dropped off her cats on Saturday.  Harper and Ethan love Naked Cat and Hissy Cat.
