Summer Dayz

We went boating today with Lisa and Nick!  The lake was smooth as glass and the weather was perfect.  We were one of the only boats on the lake so we were able to do a lot of wake boarding, tubing, and swimming :)  We love summer :)

Bat-tastic

While doing a little birthday shopping, Alex, Michele, and I found Alex's dream outfit: a batman rain coat complete with a cape and batman rain boots.  The only catch: it was an outfit for a two year old :(  Luckily, we happen to know a sweet little boy who would look bat-tastic in a batman rain outfit!!

Charlie!!!

Taking his batman role very seriously :)

Phoenix Concert

Alex, Kevin, Amy, Finch, Katie, and I went to a Phoenix concert last Friday in Cary.  We had amazing seats in the front row!  It was my first Phoenix concert and I thought they were really good :)  Amy and Kevin liked the concert so much that they bought tickets and drove to the Phoenix concert in Charlotte the next night!

The opening band was The Love Language.  They were pretty good too!

PA Teaching Certification

After almost a year of completing the endless tasks of getting teaching certified in the state of PA, Alex finally has his french teaching certification!!!  Alex got the last test result (a whopping 196/200) of a series of exams he had to take in order to be certified two Saturdays ago.  Ironically, after a year of waiting, waiting, waiting for test results, dean signatures, background checks, letters of recommendation, etc, Alex's certification was approved that Sunday and the certificate was at our house on Monday.  Now hopefully Mr. Scheer can be a french teacher again :)

I tried to make Alex a red celebration cake (NCSU colors), however, pink was the closest I could get!

FINALLY drinking the celebration champagne with a few friends :)

Dave and Jeanyoung's Celebration Weekend

A week and a half ago, Dave and JY got engaged and graduated from medical school!  We were very happy to be part of such a wonderful weekend to honor all of their accomplishments!  Christina, Connor, and their baby girlies came from New Mexico to celebrate with the newly engaged medical graduates too :)

The pretty ring!

After the engagement party we went to dinner at Tinto!  This was one of the awesome desserts :)

Dad Vail Regatta 2010

Alex and I went with Kia to watch the 2010 Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River.  Kia was on the crew team at UC Irvine and used to compete in this event.  It was neat to see so many different schools from across the country competing in such a neat tournament!

Me and Kia on the way to the races!  It was such a windy day that they had to delay some of the events for an hour!

Fans waiting for the races to begin!

Hilary's Fur Babies

This weekend Alex and I watched Hilary's kitties while she went home for a high school reunion!  Hilary is fostering four baby kittens who will be going to a new home in the next week.  We were very excited to be able to play with the baby kittens and it is always a pleasure to play with resident kittens, Lacey and Et!

So fluffy and cute!

Mark Knopfler Concert

Uncle Paul had an extra ticket to a Mark Knopfler concert last night, so he decided to bring Alex along!  Alex had a great time and it was a special treat to be able to see Paul!

Phillie Phanatics

Last night we went to a Phillies baseball game!  Danielle's family friend was throwing the first pitch as part of the Tug McGraw Foundation.  The Tug McGraw Foundation is an organization for children and adults with brain tumors to enhance quality of life and support new treatments.  It was started in honor of Tug McGraw (Tim McGraw's dad) who was a pitcher for the Phillies and also a victim of brain cancer.  Tim McGraw's cousin was there to sing the national anthem.  The Phillies lost, but the weather was perfect and the food was awesome!

Pretty glasses from the basket nobody else would drink from :(
