Nick and Mackenzie Tie the Knot

Nick and Mackenzie got married this past weekend!  We cannot be more excited for them!  They had a beautiful fall wedding in Garner, NC.  Alex was the best man and was able to sign Nick's marriage license just as Nick was able to sign ours.  It was very nice to be a part of their special day.

Brunch

We usually try to get together with our friends every weekend for brunch and this weekend, Alex and I decided to have it at our house.  We made breakfast bake, fruit cup, and muffins and got bagels from Bruegger's.  Alex made amazing mimosas and Bloody Marys.  It was great!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!  We finally carved our pumpkins with my scary Halloween CD playing in the background of course :)

Boardman Halloween Party

One of our attendings hosted her annual Halloween Party Saturday night.  We had heard how amazing the party always is and were looking forward to it all month!  Alex and I went as the deadly duo of Superman and Batman. We had a blast and it was fun seeing several of my attendings in costume.

Boo Cake

Today is Tessie's birthday!  To celebrate, we had Katherine and Tessie over for dinner last night.  I made a Boo Cake for dessert.  My ghosts are not as cute as the ghosts from the pinterest cake I copied, but they are spooky enough!

Q City BBQ Festival

Alex and I went to the Queen City BBQ Festival in uptown this weekend.  It was a huge cook-off event between some of the best BBQ places in town.  One of my favorite ED attendings owns a BBQ restaurant and was at the festival cooking with his crew.  It was great being able to introduce him to Alex!  We ate tons of amazing BBQ and got to enjoy a fun concert too!

It was Lane's first birthday this past weekend!  Lane is Drew's adorable baby boy.  We celebrated his birthday with a fun "And One" themed party in the park this past Saturday.  Hannah and Drew did an amazing job with the cute decorations and yummy food.  It was a fun little celebration of our only intern baby!
