Knights Pumpkin Patch

We made reservations to go to the Knights Uptown Baseball Stadium for a pumpkin patch.  It was an outdoor, mask required event that I have been looking forward to for a month!  It was super fun to be out on the field and pick pumpkins.  Harper ended up picking a monster pumpkin that Alex was nice enough to lug around.  We had a great October morning!

Out on the field!

Harper sat on most of the pumpkins.

They had food and drink vendors up in the stadium.  I had a warm apple cider and the kids had cookies (for breakfast).

The kids wanted to be carried home... in addition to the three pumpkins.  So we had Alex go get the car while we waited in Romare Bearden Park.  Harper and Ethan collected acorns for Poppy.

Mommy and Me Afternoon Tea

One of my patients told me about the American Girl Bistro where you can get reservations for an afternoon tea.  Harper and I went for a special Mommy and Me tea on my post call afternoon this week.  We had so much fun!  We each picked our own tea and had our own tea pots.  I had mint tea and Harper had chocolate milk (yes in her tea pot).  We had tea sandwiches, muffins, yogurt and dessert.  We had so much fun!  Luckily, Harper was not yet interested in the American Girl Dolls, but she did pick out a little cat toy for herself and a dog for Ethan.

They even had a place setting and chair for Felix!

They were very good about social distancing.  There was only one other family there and they were across the room.  This is the first indoor restaurant I have eaten in since March!

Halloween Spirit

We had a very rainy weekend in Charlotte.  We spent our days off getting into the Halloween spirit.

We walked to North End Friday night for food.  I love walking around the area (it's where Biden just attended an event a couple weeks ago!).  The North End area previously functioned as a Ford factory then became a Hercules missile factory during the Cold War.  You can't see it well in this picture, but I am standing near an old railway track now covered with flowers.

Harper and I made a monster cake for dessert.

We added some spider webs and a scary skeleton to our decorations!

Windy Hill Orchard Outing

The kids and I did our first official fall activity yesterday with our neighbor, Meghan and her daughter.  We went to Windy Hill Orchard for fresh apples, apple cider and donuts.  The weather was beautiful with sunny skies and temps in the low seventies.  We had a great time and were able to see some farm animals too!  We are hoping to make an apple pie with our apples today.

The kids drank their apple cider out of cute pumpkin cups.

Apple cider and donuts!

We had hard apple cider flights that were delicious.

We can't go anywhere without getting a pumpkin these days.

We were able to watch them make fresh apple cider donuts.

Harper loved the pot belly pigs!

Ethan liked the chickens.
