Grinchy Festivities

Alex had a curling tournament this weekend so the kids and I got to spend a lot of special time together!  We went up to Northlake Mall Friday evening to see the movie Wish.  We got there a little early so we stopped to meet Santa first!  On Saturday, we went over to Metropolitan to meet the Grinch then over to Camp North End for the Christmas Reindog Parade.  We went to the Curling Center to catch Alex's last game Saturday night.

Mall Santa set ups have changed a bit since I was little.

We loved the movie Wish!

My favorite part of Saturday morning was watching kids react to the Grinch!

The kids got cookies too pretty to eat!

We got tasty treats before heading home.

I finished the Christmas lights!

Jimmie

Merry Christmas to me!  I bought my first new car!  I loved my old car, but it had broken down more times than I could count in the past year.  It was thirteen years old and no longer reliable.  I spent a while researching new cars and decided on a Range Rover Evoque.  I was finally able to get it today and I love it!  The car interacts with my phone and needed a nick name during the set up.  The only name Alex and I could come up with was Jimmie.  I am totally smitten with Jimmie!!

Merry Christmas!  Jimmie was waiting for me right out front!

I have never had a sun roof!

Baking Spirits Bright

We had a wonderful weekend getting into the Christmas spirit.  I was fighting a GI bug, but we didn't let that spoil any of our fun!  Gigi came to visit for a couple days this weekend.  Gigi and I wrapped all the kid's presents on Friday.  Such a relief to have that done!  We went to the Ballantyne hotel Friday afternoon for Holiday Tea.  We had live Christmas music, delicious holiday tea and the most perfect platter of tea sandwiches and desserts.  Harper had a Christmas cookie decorating party Saturday morning.  It was my first time meeting a lot of Harper's friends and their parents.  It was such a cute party!  Thank goodness Gigi was there to help me with it.  On Sunday, we went over to Camp North End for a late lunch and ice skating.  It was great!  Hopefully we can make our way back over there again this season!

We started with lunch.

It didn't take long before they wanted to start decorating the cookies!

There were sprinkles everywhere, but the girls had a blast!

Harper is our ramen lover.

Harper had fallen earlier and got a bloody knee.  She didn't want her pant leg touching her boo boo.

I caught Ethan mid fall!  I think we ended up skating for over an hour!

I got hot apple cider after ice skating and the kids got popcorn.

We watched other people skating while we ate our snacks.

We love Camp North End and are so happy we can walk here!
