Soccer

We had a nice little week.  Alex has started sailing again with his friends on Lake Norman.  This week, when they opened the sail, a nest of bird eggs fell to the ground.  There were two baby birds that made it.  Alex took them home for the night as there was no where to replace the nest.  We made a blanket of Lu's fur for the birds.  We made several different food options for the birds (internet approved), but they didn't want to eat.  Alex took them to a rescue bird center the next day.  We are able to follow their progress online and so far, they are still okay.

Sleepy birds all cozy!

Alex and I went out for a working lunch on Friday.  I had notes to finish and Alex had PTA business to do.

We went to an outdoor movie at Midwood Park Friday night with Amelia and her mom.  They had free popcorn, candy and water.  It was cute!

Ethan had his last soccer practice and game this week.  They won the game!

We met friends at the Charlotte FC game Saturday night.  We decided last minute to tailgate before the game.  It was fun, but we will up our game next time.

Ethan fell asleep after the game started.  Luckily, he woke up around half time.

We scored a great goal, but lost the game.  We blame the refs.

Sunday was beautiful and the kids spent all day at the park with friends.

May Madness

It has been a busy couple of weeks as the end of the school year always is.  There have been a couple field trips for Harper, teacher appreciation week, a soccer tournament, a curling tournament, Mother's Day events and birthday parties.

Harper's grade went to the Panther's stadium to welcome a new draft pick.

Alex was able to eat lunch with the kids a couple weeks ago.  The kids and their friends are always entertaining!

Who is this teenager helping with the cooking?!

Harper's soccer tournament started a couple weekends ago.  Lisa came into town to see both kids play their games.  Alex's parents have also been present at all the games!

We were able to bring Lisa to catch one of Alex's curling matches!

Sushi for dinner!

We had brunch at Camp North End before Harper's final game last weekend.

I went to Muffins with Mom this past Friday at the kid's school.

He was not happy to have muffins with Mom.

Harper had another field trip to Top Golf.  It involved "math".

After the field trip, Alex took the kids for an early release day and got them ice cream.

Harper's team had their final tournament game this Saturday.  They won the game and won the championship!

Ethan's team also won their game.

Ethan went to a birthday party at a Charlotte Knight's baseball game on Saturday afternoon.  It was a superhero game so they got signatures from many superheros on their baseballs.

On Saturday night, we went to an end of season party for Harper's soccer team.  Their beloved coach is moving out of state next month so it was a bittersweet goodbye.

The coach always gives a speech for each individual kid at the end of the season.  Harper won the Midfield Magician award.

We are very thankful for all of our coaches.  Coach Matt will be dearly missed next season.

After the soccer party, we went to Catherine's birthday celebration.  The town of Matthews had a carnival with live music just around the corner from their house.

Happy birthday Catherine!

Harper made a Mother's Day breakfast with yummy pancakes.
