A Nautical Celebration

We had Ethan's first birthday celebration yesterday!  The theme was nautical, in tune with his bedroom.  Mom came into town a few days early to help us get ready for the party.  We celebrated the little man with our family, friends and neighbors.  Ethan had a blast seeing all of his visitors, eating cake and munching on all the barbecue chips he could get his hands on!

Grandma made the cutest sand dollar cookies for the party.  They were perfectly ornate and delicious!

We had sailboat watermelon and crabwiches.

We had a bouncy house for all the kiddos.

We had to keep the tradition alive and have a keg at Ethan's first birthday party.

Happy Independence Day

Happy Independence Day!  We celebrated the 4th of July with a cookout at the house then fireworks in Uptown.  We had never been to the fireworks show in Uptown before and it was amazing!  We got there an hour and a half early and were able to snag great seats.  Harper enjoyed running through the crowds and giving us heart attacks.  Ethan enjoyed sneaking into Harper's chair while she was running amok.  Luckily, both Ethan and Harper loved the fireworks!

A pre-firework nap!

No 4th of July cookout is complete without a dinosaur taking up one side of the table.

Little man loves his watermelon!

We started the sparklers a little early.

We lit our sparklers the whole way back to the car.
