Pumpkins & Music

Ethan had his first field trip on Friday to a pumpkin patch.  They played on playgrounds, pet animals, learned about the life cycle of plants and got to pick a pumpkin.  Alex was a chaperone on the trip.  After school, we headed to Atlanta for Oakhurst Porchfest.  Porchfest is a grassroots music celebration in Decatur where neighbors perform music on their porches.  Alex and his parents signed up!  It was fun to watch them and see all their hard work come to fruition.

Pumpkins & Chili

We had great fall weather this weekend.  We went to the Charlotte Knights Pumpkin Patch Saturday morning.  The kids had fun picking more pumpkins.  The kids had curling practice Saturday afternoon.  Sunday, I took the kids to Hall Family Farm for a corn maze.  The line for food was so long, that we never made it over to the corn maze!  At least the kids could play on the farm for a bit.  We had a chili cook-off Sunday evening.  It was super fun!  Alex made chili last minute and it was amazing.

Pumpkins & Pizza

Alex's Aunt Janet and Uncle Bruce were in town with his parents this weekend.  We had a cookout at our house Saturday night then brunch in Uptown on Sunday.  The kids played in the park for a bit after brunch.  We then went to our first official pumpkin patch in Indian Trail that afternoon.  This pumpkin patch is known for its outdoor pizza oven.
