Evolution of a Bathroom

I have hated the kids bathroom ever since we moved in.  I have been dreaming of changing this room for a decade!  We finally pulled the trigger this year and interviewed three different contractors.  It is expensive to renovate even a small bathroom like this, but it is worth it!  The renovation did take a little longer than expected, however, because I apparently just have to have exactly what I want and nothing less.

The kids use this bathroom daily.  Bath time has always been special in our house.  The kids have spent HOURS in the bath.  Ethan has splashed more than a fair share of water on the walls and baseboards so the drywall needed to be replaced.

Lu has always been our official Bath Monitor.

The kids definitely loved the old bath!  I always meant to print these photos, but never got a chance.

I searched for MONTHS to find the tile, paint color and finishes for this room.

The destruction team took everything out and replaced the scratched, old cabinets in one day.

My most favorite thing about the new construction was the addition of a window in the space.  This makes the room one hundred percent better.

Lu liked to check out the progress.

She is the Bath Monitor, after all.

It took me a while to find mirrors I liked.

All done! I love it!  We have glass doors on the bathtub so Ethan can't splash the walls and floors.  It is perfect!

End of September

I can't believe it is almost October.  I have been working a lot this month to make up for Africa (and also my partner had surgery).  Alex doesn't take many pictures, but I have a few!

Harper was playing at a friend's house last weekend and I had brought Lu with me to pick her up.  We ended up stopping at Amelie's on the way home and had to bring Lu inside in a backpack.

Last Friday night, we had movie night at Ethan's school.  Harper ran around with the older siblings and old friends.

Alex and Emily took the kids rock climbing.

We went to August's welcome shower this weekend.  It was so nice to see everyone.

Harper had a soccer game.

Lulu night time!

It is finally cool enough to sit outside with the fire.
