We spent this Thanksgiving in Philadelphia with the Scheers. We rented a house in center city near the Liberty Bell. It was designed by the owner of Coca Cola and is now owned by a well-known fashion designer. It is one of the homes the horse carriage tours stop to talk about on their route! We heard the sleigh bells on the horses all day long :) The house is also two doors down from James Madison's house! It was a very convenient location.
Alex's mom and dad came to Philly Thanksgiving morning and Emily came the next day. Poor Frank had to stay in Pittsburgh for work. We had a great time hanging out in the Coca Cola house and exploring Philadelphia!

Sitting by the fire!
My pumpkin pie!
The oven was super tiny, but still fit our eight pound turklet! There was no space, however, to heat the green bean casserole or the sweet potatoes at the same time. We had to put the potatoes in the oven after the turkey finished and luckily, they were warm in time :)
Our pretty table! I had never made anything for Thanksgiving before, but this year I made the sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green salad and pumpkin pie. It was fun!
First time carving the turklet!

Horse carriage ride!
We had the horse drop us off right outside our house since it was on the tour anyway!
We stopped by City Tavern to try Benjamin Franklin's spruce beer. It was very tasty! The tavern has been around since 1773 and was the unofficial meeting place for the First Continental Congress.
Our first stop at Christmas Village was Liza's Crepes. We waited forty minutes in line for those yummy crepes!
