Instead of going to an interview that I already had two days off from school for, I decided to take my four day weekend and spend it in Portland! I had not seen Alex's parent's new flat, so it was the perfect excuse. The new place was beautiful with the most amazing views of the city. Extremely yummy restaurants were all within walking distance (or within riding distance on the city car for chilly nights!) Needless to say, I had a wonderful time and can't wait to visit again.
The Pearl District, where the Scheers live, used to be full of factories and warehouses, but is now the trendy place to live. The city left this one warehouse wall up as an artsy reminder of the past.
Being the special child, I got to go to Tiffany & Co! The Scheers got me a beautiful chain necklace to put my wedding rings on during residency when I can't wear them in the OR or the L & D suite.
