Ice Day

We actually had a snow day in Charlotte yesterday!  It was the first active snowfall Ethan has seen!  Most of the day was actually sleet, but we did get snow early in the morning and then again at night.  Usually when snow is forecasted in Charlotte, we get an hour of flakes and no accumulation.  This time, we had a couple inches!  The kids thoroughly enjoyed their snow day.  They ran into our room first thing in the morning and asked if the snow meant that Santa was coming.  They had a wonderful time sledding and building a snow fort.  We had hot chocolate and spent a lot of time by the fireplace.

We went outside first thing in the morning!

Drive-In Movie

We have been trying to avoid other people given the insane amount of Covid in the community right now.  My clinic is so short-staffed that we have been canceling appointments and whole clinics just to make it through the day.  Alex, the kids and I have been playing games, cooking more at home and watching movies.  We decided to do a drive-in movie this past weekend.  The kids loved it!

Setting up for the movie!

Our movie-goers arrived in style.

Harper paid for the tickets.

The kids picked out their favorite snacks.

And watched Little Mermaid from the comfort of their own cars.

It was fun!  We bought a movie projector for this fun activity and I'm sure it will get a lot of use.  Now we just need an appropriate screen.  We had to use my patterned sheets this time!

Scheer Christmas

Alex and the kids went down to Atlanta the day after we returned from Cary.  I was stuck in Charlotte working, but was able to go down on the 23rd.  We celebrated Dave's birthday and Christmas with the Scheers.  It was amazing!  I had to head home Christmas Day for work and my family remained in Atlanta until New Years Eve.  They had a wonderful time!

We had a raclette cheese dinner for Dave's birthday.  It was delicious!

Happy birthday!

Emily took me and Harper to see the most decorated house ever!
