The week before last, Harper's grade had a field trip to Reed Gold Mine. It is the site of the first documented gold find in the United States. We haven't been there since Ethan was just born. Alex went as as a chaperone. Harper had a great time exploring and panning for gold! I was working last weekend so I missed the kid's soccer games, but got great photo updates! The kids had curling practice after soccer.
This week in scouts, the kids went to Harper's leader's veterinary practice to meet some reptiles. Harper just loves all animals. Ethan looked skeptical. The kids had a Career Day at school on Thursday morning. I was able to present to the Kindergartners and first graders then had a booth for the third, forth and fifth graders to visit. It was fun!

Ethan doesn't look too sure about this...
I made a poster with information about my specialty and a few of my surgical photos. I hid them under flaps in case anyone didn't want to see.
This ovarian tumor (teratoma) can grow hair, teeth and sebaceous material as well as other things.
Presenting to the first graders!
I had cheap stethoscopes for kids to listen to their heart beats. I also had cute medical stickers for them to take.
