Alphabet Boot Camp G-M

We spent this past week working on letters G through M.  Harper has really been getting into our letter activities.  Hopefully she is learning something!

G is for giraffe!

We made glow-in-the-dark, glitter goo.  It was pretty sticky and Harper made me promise that we would not make it again.

My favorite G activity was our growth chart.  We plotted the length the kids were at birth and then measured their current heights to find out how much they have grown.  They were impressed with their growth!

H is for Harper girl!

I printed and cut out my favorite pictures of Harper from over the years.  She happily taped them to her H.

My favorite H activity was haircutting!  This took me forever to prepare the night before, but it was worth it!

Harper thoroughly enjoyed cutting everyone's hair!  She kept telling me how much the paper people were going to love their new looks.

We did a heart-shaped experiment with baking soda and vinegar.

I is for iguana.

And ice cream made in a bag!

All you need is ice, salt, sugar, heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract and a lot of shaking to make this delicious treat.

We made insects out of Harper's thumbprints.

J is for jellyfish.

And beautiful jewelry!

We made juice for happy hour.

We used pineapples, kiwis and strawberries.

It was delicious!

Harper and I made jello for dessert.

K is for kangaroo (and her kid).

We constructed a homemade kaleidoscope.

We needed translucent beads, clear plastic, and reflective aluminum foil to put into a paper towel roll.

It was not perfect, but it was pretty cool.  I bought a hot glue gun for this project and love it!

The colors didn't come through in the camera, but it was pretty.

K is also for King Harper.

And King Ethan

We went on a fun walk to collect leaves for L day.

Then we made a lava lamp using baby oil, water, food coloring and alka seltzer tablets.

We learned all about lungs: bronchi, bronchioles, and alveoli.  We talked about inhalation, exhalation, and gas exchange.  I'll be happy if she remembers that lungs start with L.

Alex had the great idea to do luminaries for our last L activity.

They were pretty!

Lungs

Little Man

M is for muffins on Mother's Day!

After our muffins, we packed up and went to the mountains for a Mother's Day hike.

M is for mouse.
