Chicago Bliss

Alex and I went to Chicago this weekend for Danielle's wedding.  We hadn't seen Danielle since right after Harper was born when she came to visit.  Of course we text frequently, but it was so nice to see her again in person and it was like no time had passed.

We left the babies in Charlotte with Alex's parents.  We missed them dearly, but it was super fun to travel sans kids.

It was a quick flight to Chicago.  We hopped on the train to downtown then walked a few blocks to our hotel.  I love big cities and the ease of public transportation!

We were staying in the West Loop near Fulton Market.

We loved our hotel, The Hoxton.

We went out to eat at The Girl and The Goat.  It was the best food we have had in years!

We met up with Danielle at a rooftop bar a block from our hotel after dinner.

Alex and I had reservations for an architecture boat tour around Chicago in the morning.

The tour was amazing, but we forgot sunscreen and got burnt!  Terrible decision before a wedding with a strapless dress.

We stopped for coffee and pastries after the tour.

We walked back to the hotel along the river.

There was a shuttle to the wedding from our hotel.

The wedding was beautiful and we had such a nice time.  We were seated with Danielle's college friend and her husband.  We had hung out with her several times in medical school so it was great to see her again.

We had brunch with the bride and groom Sunday morning.  It was a wonderful weekend!  We took the train back to the airport.
