After our night at Capitol Reef, we drove to Canyonlands National Park. Canyonlands and Arches are very close together so we stayed in Moab for three nights while we explored these two parks. Canyonlands is a huge national park with three districts that are quite far apart - Islands in the Sky, Needles, and the Maze. We chose to see Islands in the Sky and it was fantastic. The park was pretty isolated without the crowds of the bigger parks. People are definitely missing out. Maybe it was the slightly cooler temperatures or the cloud cover, but we actually liked Canyonlands better than the Grand Canyon. We did a 2 mile round trip on the Grandview Trail. After the hike, we drove into Moab to our RV site. Moab is a cute little town and our RV park was on the main strip. We explored the town and ate at a fun restaurant. The town reminded us of a very small version of Asheville.
Alex and Harper went out to see the views!
Mesa Arch with a sleepy baby!
We liked the view through the arch.
I think it looks like someone took a cookie cutter to the land.
Harper was asleep so I could put a hat on her head. We equipped her backpack with a fan too for the heat.
The end of the trail!
Alex liked this tree.
Our site in Moab!
Exploring the town!
