Philly Finale

Alex was in Philadelphia for the past couple of days to do the final walk through of our apartment.  We couldn't get out of our Philly lease so we have been paying for two apartments for the past two months.  It will be nice to only write one rent check this month!  Alex said it was weird hanging out on our old stomping grounds, but luckily he was able to see a few friends while he was in town.

Ben and Cady Mack moved up to Philadelphia literally one month after we moved out.  Alex had a great time visiting with the newlyweds and said they live in an awesome location!

Alex and Bucciferro hanging out on the porch like old times :)

Kia is living in New Jersey now and loving his residency program.  Alex stayed with him one of the nights he was in town.  Only one month until his wedding!

One little apartment, so many memories!

Busy Bees

The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy and we have not been the best at remembering to take pictures.  Alex turned twenty-seven a week and a half ago.  We had a nice dinner out thanks to the Prommersbergers and unfortunately, did not take a single picture.  It was my birthday this past week.  Aishwarya got up extra early to make awesome cookies and my intern class signed a sweet card.   Singing "Happy Birthday" at the sign out table is much more exciting than rounding!

My amazing birthday cookies with cute "26" birthday candles!

Happy birthday to me!  We went out to dinner for my birthday with some friends at an amazing Indian restaurant.  It was fantastic and I can't wait to go back!

Courtney had us all over to her parent's house on Friday night for an Italian wine party.  Her family vacationed in Italy this summer and wanted to share their experience with family and friends.  The party was awesome and we had a blast!

Mom, Dad, and Grandma came to Charlotte this weekend to celebrate our birthdays.  Alex and I took Mom and Dad on a bike ride to show them our cool bike trail and a park we had found.  It started pouring when we got to the park, however, and we got soaked!  The bike trail runs along a stream that apparently turns into rapids when it rains.  We nearly escaped being washed away!

After the ride we were dripping wet!

We had Katherine and Tessie over Saturday night for a little cookout party.  Luckily the rain held off!

 Happy birthday to us!

Tonight there was a party at our Program Director's house for all the Ob residents.  It was fun to hang out with the whole team outside of work and unfortunately, I did not take any pictures :(

Charlotte Visitors

Amy and Kevin came to Charlotte to visit this weekend!  It was so nice to see them and super fun to show off our new town.  It has been raining for what seems like two weeks straight, though, so we were not able to spend as much time outdoors.

We used our new jalapeno popper stand.  They were super tasty!

Our guests!

Welcome to Charlotte!

They always make good music.

Can't wait until they come visit again!

Fourth of July Fiesta

I was lucky enough to have most of the 4th of July off this year.  I only had to go in to round and then I was able to leave!  Our next door neighbor had told us our parking lot is the best place in Charlotte to see fireworks so we decided to throw a last minute 4th of July bash.  A few of the other interns also had the day off and were able to come.  Unfortunately, it started to storm and rain right as the fireworks were supposed to start and they were delayed.  Four am comes quickly so instead of waiting for the show to start, we had to ditch our awesome spots and head to bed.  The fireworks did eventually start at 10:15 and because it had been four long years since I caught a fireworks show, we stayed up and watched them anyway.

We put together a quick mini feast!

Our 4th of July gang!  Jeff came over from Greensboro for the show!

It was raining on and off throughout the day, so we got a canopy tent just in case.

Waiting for the fireworks!  Maybe next year they will start on time while our guests are still over!
