Regan Reunion 2014

Alex and I both had the weekend off so we snuck over to Isle of Palms, South Carolina for the Regan Reunion.  This is the first year our family has tried this beach, which is just outside of Charleston.  Alex and I were only able to stay the weekend, but we had a blast and can't wait to hear the stories from the rest of the week.  My family is staying with the Shupes and the Chicago Regans.  It was a short trip for us, but it is nice to be able to picture where everybody will be for the week.

Anytime I go to the beach, it rains.  My dreary curse continued during our thirty-six hour Isle of Palms trip.

Our family rented a total of five houses this trip.  A few families stayed at houses on this colorful block!

We had ice cream on the boardwalk.

Saturday night, a few of us had cake and sang happy birthday to the July babies!

The sun was out Sunday morning so Alex and I decided to head to the beach.  But by the time we got to the white fence, it was pouring :(

Super Moon

We went to Courtney and Tim's house for dinner last night.  We grilled out and enjoyed the Super Moon.  Happy summer!

Microbrews Cruise

Alex and I went to the White Water Center with Kate, Sean, Hunter and Kelsey last night for a Microbrews Cruise.  The Microbrews Cruise is a group kayaking event on the Catawba River followed by dinner and beer tasting from a local brewery.  The White Water Center hosts the event.  The kayaking was awesome, especially when Alex tied my kayak to his and did all the paddeling!  We had shrimp and grits for dinner which was fantastic.  The brewery was Smuttynose Brewing Company.  We had an amazing time and plan to the Zip Line and Wine event next!

Our kayaking group!  I wish I had my camera on the river, but I was too afraid of dropping it.

Cheers!

Five Wonderful Years

Alex and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary this past Thursday.  I cannot believe it has been five years since we got hitched under those beautiful North Carolina pecan trees.  We made dinner reservations at Five Church in Uptown, trying to be symbolic.  Cheers to the first five years and here's to the next sixty!

My hubby had roses and champagne waiting when I got home from work :)

Dinner was absolutely amazing!
