Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Alex and I took Harper to a Knights baseball game with Sean, Kate and Tyler tonight.  Harper loved it!!  She was a big fan of clapping when the crowd cheered for a good run.  She munched on peanuts and waved at nearly everyone in the stadium.  We had a great time.

Charlotte Knights fans!

The view has changed a little bit since the last time we were here with all of the new construction.

Harper was excited to sit with Kate and Sean.

Resident Graduation Banquet 2016

We went to the Resident Graduation Banquet last night to celebrate the graduating residents from all specialties.  A lot of the residents in family medicine, pediatrics, and emergency medicine who we started with as interns graduated this year, as their programs are only three years.  It is sad to see them go, but we are very happy for them!  Katherine was nice enough to babysit Harper so that Alex and I could go together.  We had a blast!

We started off the night at Matt's rooftop deck with a beautiful view of uptown.

PB & J

Harper had her first peanut butter and jelly sandwich yesterday.  She loved it!  We still only have two teeth, with two more actively coming in, but luckily she is a good gummer.

She didn't know what to think of her first sandwich!

Just a little taste

Yum!

She also practiced feeding herself yogurt.  She did a great job!

Such a yummy lunch :)

Hello, Goodbye

We spent this weekend with good friends.  As excited as I am to move up into my last year of residency, every June means saying goodbye to the senior residents.  This particular group of residents is a difficult one to let go.  They were the ones who welcomed us to intern year, having just finished what we were about to start.  They were our mentors, confidants and friends.  We are lucky to have several of them stay in the Charlotte area, but are very sad to see the others leave.  We had a get-together Saturday night to honor our chiefs.

One of the chief residents is moving to Ohio later this month to start his Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship.  He has not only become one of my good friends, but one of Alex's.  From weekly game nights to music sessions, we are surely going to miss Fin and Lindsay's company.  There was a going away party for this buckeye loving couple Sunday night.

After a sad weekend of goodbyes, we were able to celebrate new friendships in our neighborhood Sunday night at a potluck dinner.  We are very lucky to live in such wonderful neighborhood with such amazing people!

Hot Hot Hot

It was super hot this weekend!  We had to spend some time in the ducky pool in order to cool off.

Landon's Birthday Party

Landon had his first birthday party this past weekend!  We cannot believe the little monkey is one year old!!  Courtney and Tim threw the birthday boy a pool party at Landon's grandparent's house.  It was a beautiful day, just perfect for the pool.  I can remember a year ago when the little one was just bitty!  We can't believe how much he has grown.  Harper was very excited for her friend!
