Memorial Day Weekend 2022

We had a busy Memorial Day Weekend!  We spent Saturday at Matty and Shilpa's pool party.  It was wonderful to see everyone and we were able to meet Lisa and Andrew's foster babies for the first time!  The kids had a blast in the pool.  Sunday, we went back to Carowinds with Ethan and Alex.  Ethan is definitely not a huge ride fan, but we made some progress.  We tried out Carowinds' water park, which was fun, but crowded.

Snacks and hot tub!

Harper thoroughly enjoyed playing with cousins.

We started off with a tiny ride on Sunday.

Harper and Alex rode a bigger coaster.

Little man was afraid!

We had an ice cream snack after the water park.

It's Gonna Be May

Ethan had two more birthday parties this weekend.  He had a pirate party in a park on Saturday and a super hero house party on Sunday.  I feel like after two years of pandemic social distancing, we are finally finding out what it is supposed to be like to have kids with friends.  Harper had a Girl Scout event on Sunday too.

Ethan's pirate party was a dress up party.  He loved it!

Harper had a Girl Scout event at Wing Haven to learn about exploring the outdoors.  She earned her natural badge.  Girl Scouts was new to us this year.  I am excited to be more involved next year.

Ethan's party today was a super hero party.  There were fun outdoor activities for the kids and bunnies to play with.

Carowinds with Harper

We bought season tickets to Carowinds this weekend and Harper and I went on Saturday!  Carowinds is only twenty-five minutes from our house.  It was Harper's first time on a roller coaster and she loved it!!  The one she picked was pretty intense for a first coaster experience.  I was impressed!  We had planned to stay until around 3pm, but ended up staying until close to 10!  At the end of the night when most people had left, we rode favorite coaster over and over again.  We definitely have another roller coaster lover in the family now!

Our first attraction was the spinning wheel that takes you high above the park to see it all.  We could see Uptown in the distance!

It was ninety degrees, but overcast for most of the day.  We did have an hour and a half of rain that delayed our rides for a bit.

Harper's first roller coaster!

We had a pretzel snack during the rain then made a stop at the candy store.

We were so excited for our first ride after the storms!  It was another roller coaster that ended up being Harper's favorite.

We rode a ton of roller coasters!  I didn't realize Harper was 48 inches tall!

Harper also loved the swings.  She rode this one five times at least.
