Wing Haven

I am always looking for new experiences for the kids.  A while back, I came across a list of hidden gems in Charlotte.  One of them, Wing Haven, was listed as a beautiful historic garden and bird sanctuary nestled in the Myers Park neighborhood.  It was described as a peaceful escape from the city, rich in history and complete with gorgeous gardens and colorful wildlife.  We took advantage of the warm temperatures and decided to explore.  We started the day with brunch in Elizabeth, then drove our awesome new minivan over to Wing Haven.  We had fun exploring the gardens!

Ride Along with Me

Harper has been watching Daniel Tiger and became very interested in trollies.  After living in Charlotte for almost six years, we finally rode the trolley that goes between my hospital and Uptown.  Harper loved it!  We caught the trolley in Uptown and rode it to Elizabeth, where we had a yummy lunch and an ice cream treat.  We rode the trolley back to town and played in the park for a bit.  It was a nice way to enjoy a sunny day!

Waiting for our trolley!

Harper did already ride a trolley in San Francisco, but she was too little to remember.
