Happy Birthday to Us!!!

Alex and I just celebrated our birthdays!  Alex had his birthday while we were down at the beach and mine was the day we came home from the beach.  Happy birthday to us!!

Alex's birthday balloon and cake!  Alex loves his beer so I decided to make him a Guinness cake.  There is a cup of Guinness in the cake and the presentation is made to look like a glass of the beer with the foam on top.  It was the best cake I have made yet!!!  I got a cake stand for my birthday so there will be plenty more cakes to come :)

Regan Reunion 2010

Last week was the Regan Reunion 2010!  We fit the family into five beach houses and two condos on Sunset Beach, NC.  It was a week full of sun, sand, and fun!  It was great to see family that we had not seen since the wedding.  All of our little cousins are getting so big!  The weather was perfect the entire week and the waves were great.  I can't believe we have to wait another two years until the next reunion!!

Aunt Teresa

This year, the theme of the Olympics was Toy Story.  Alex was on the Potato Head team and I was on the Buzz Lightyear team.  We competed in balloon tossing, wacky relay racing, dodge ball gaming, beach golfing, capture the flag playing, and limboing.  The Army Men won the Olympics, but my team was only one point behind!

Michigan Madness

We spent the last week in Michigan on a vacation with the Scheers!  Alex's grandparents had a party for their 50th wedding anniversary so we decided to make a vacation out of it!  We rented a house on the river Alex and his family grew up on.  We fly fished, canoed, tubed, and swatted a ton of bugs.  We saw a lot of relatives and family friends and had a great time!!

The house

We drove to a canoe rental place, rented a couple canoes, and canoed back to the cabin!  My white pants hint at the fact that I am not the best at outdoorsy stuff :)

Alex tubing!  A few days later, Alex, Emily and I embarked on a canoe trip to Alex's grandparent's cabin which by road, is only six miles away.  Two and a half hours into our tubing adventure our butts were freezing, there was lightening in the sky, and we were completely over the river.  Luckily, a couple who had kayaked by us earlier came to our rescue and offered to drive us home.  They could have been kidnappers, yet we weighed the options and decided it was worth it!

Alex and I went to Traverse City for the Cherry Festival.  We had lunch at a cute shop, bought some cherries, and ate tons of fudge!

All the little cousins!  Alex's Aunt Mary had to fly back to California to film another episode of iCarly so we got to watch her kids Abby and Nate.
