Moo-ving

Alex and I hit the road on Monday to our new home in Philly! Lisa and Nick came with us to help us out. We don't know what we would have done without them!! After a fun filled ride of reading a book on how to read EKGs with Lisa, we finally arrived in the city of brotherly love :) All of our crate and barrel and pottery barn boxes fit nicely in the apartment, our couch, however, had other plans. After a long forty minutes of getting the couch up to our front door, a wall directly in front of our door strongly impeded our efforts. Two hours, an aunt and a cousin later, the couch was finally in... fabric torn, wall severely dented and scratched, and floor a little scratched. Lisa was nice enough to sew up the couch this morning and it looks a lot better! All of the boxes are unpacked, the clothes are put away, and the coffee maker is brewing! We will put up pictures as soon as we get all of the frames on the wall :)

Our First Apartment

Alex and I spent our first year living together in beautiful Chapel Hill. Alex was super sweet and agreed to live in tarheel territory because I did not have a car. Even though he was away from his beloved NC State, I still think he had a great time here (thanks to Cosmic Cantina, Cat's Cradle, and Linda's)! Our apartment was just the right size (a whole lot bigger than our future apartment) and was conveniently located right next to a few of our closest friends. After a year of living together in our cozy apartment, we sure are sad to leave :(

Step 6: Ya Mon

For our honeymoon, we went to beautiful Montego Bay, Jamaica. Alex and I were super lucky because the resort was all inclusive so we were able to eat and drink whenever and whatever we wanted to. We ate two dinners every night and had one or two late night snacks at the pub!! We were in tummy heaven!! Alex, the language lover, even picked up a few phrases in Patwa :) One night, Alex was picked to participate in the Irie Man contest... he had to read poems as Richard Simmons, dance french dances, answer questions about Jamaica, and so much more. In the end, Alex got second place!!! I was super proud of my new hubby :) We had a fantastic time and are missing the never ending smoothies!

Step 5: Eat, Drink and Be Married

We "thrilled" our guests with our first dance and were able to involve the entire wedding party!! Alex and I knew we wanted to do the Thriller as part of our first dance since before we were even engaged and it was so much fun to finally do it! The food and cake were amazing and the DJ did a great job with the music! I think everybody had a super time! You know you are having a blast when all of the bobby pins come out of your wedding hair-do!!
