Hot Hot Hot

The kids had their first week of camp this week - a soccer camp at Queens College.  It was a super hot week so they did not appreciate running around outside, but had a good time overall.  Their favorite part was eating lunch in a college cafeteria with tons of food and drink choices.  Next week, they have another outdoor camp at the White Water Center.

We had a fire in the fire pit a couple nights this week.  Lu loves being outside with us.

She also loves being a stuffed animal.

Michele and Dave took Harper and Ethan to the movies and the pool Friday afternoon so Alex and I could go on a date.  We went to Hello Sailor up in Cornelius.

We went to Dave and Buster's for Michele's birthday on Sunday.  We had a great time playing all the games!

Harper is great at claw machines.

Officially Summer

The kids had two days of school this week then summer officially started!

The forth grade had an awards ceremony on Monday.  I was able to sneak over for it.  Harper won several awards.

The principle gave a nice speech.

It is our tradition to pick the kids up at the bus stop in dinosaur costumes for the last day of school.

We love the kid's bus driver!

I made Atlantic Beach Pie for our first night of summer!  This is my favorite summer pie.  The recipe is from Crook's Corner in Chapel Hill.

The kids went swimming for their first full day of summer.  They were apparently at the pool for six hours!

Alex and the kids went out on Lake Norman for their second day of summer.  There was boating, swimming and tubing.

On Saturday, the kids attended a birthday party at a jumpy place.

After the party, Harper went to a goodbye party for one of her dear friends who is moving to London.  When she got home, we went to eat at Camp North End.

Summer Vibes

The kids enjoyed their last full week of school.  They had Field Day, which Alex was able to help out with.  The pictures looked amazing!  We have started doing a few more of our summer traditions with the nice weather!

Field Day!

A patient of mine is a teacher at Harper and Ethan's school.  She had just dunked Harper in this picture!

We walked over to the brewery by our house for dinner one night this week.  We brought Lu along and she enjoyed threatening all the dogs.

Our neighborhood geese families have been doing well.

On Saturday, the kids and I met friends at Wise Acres Farm for strawberry picking and pizza.

Harper ate the entire basket before we got home.

After strawberry picking, we headed to a birthday party for one of Harper's friends.  I made friends with the family cat.

The kids met up with cousins on Sunday to go to Anne Springs Close Greenway.
