Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

We took a family trip to the zoo yesterday!  Now that school is back in session the zoo was empty.  There were no crowds, lines or crazy kids running around.  We had great views of all the animals and had the amazing opportunity to feed giraffes!  We had a blast and spent five hours visiting with the animals!

Hello elephant!

We spotted a little dinosaur crawling out of an egg!

The best part of our trip was by far the giraffe feeding experience.

Harper was not afraid at all and loved feeding the giraffes lettuce!

 This giraffe's name was Leah.

This was big Jack!

We fed Jack for a while.

There were also zebras and ostriches in the giraffe enclosure.

We liked watching the baboons monkey around.

Harper liked the baby baboon.

The rhinos were very lazy.

Pretty blue frogs

Exploring the aviary

These porcupines were forty inches in length!

Bear cub

We were the only visitors with this bobcat who was just hanging out in the corner.  Harper quickly became his friend.  The bobcat watched Harper walking around and decided she would be the perfect little snack!  When Harper walked away, the bobcat got up and followed her!

Kisses for the bobcat

The otters were adorable and swam with twirls and flips for the baby!

Going to the zoo with a baby snack is a fun way to engage the animals!

These cougars were also very excited to watch Harper.
