Easter-In-Place

It was a strange Easter without extended family this year, but the kids still had a wonderful time.  We dyed Easter eggs, had an egg hunt, left treats for the Easter bunny, found awesome Easter baskets and made a yummy Easter dinner.

Little man was excited to dye eggs!

Gigi and Poppy sent the kids a new fun way to decorate eggs with markers.  They had a blast and the eggs were beautiful!

Everybody had a turn.

Our finished product!

My favorite egg was Harper's.

Nanna and Granddad sent delicious bunny chocolates!

All ready for the egg hunt!

They did a great job finding the eggs.

Then they ate all the candy and went crazy!

Happy Easter!

The Easter bunny nibbled on our carrots and left the kids a note.

Harper found her basket under the desk.

Ethan looked under the couch for his basket.

They found it behind the curtains!

It was a successful Easter.

Harper and I had made a cake on Saturday for Sunday dessert.  The frosting did not turn out as planned.  It was supposed to be pastel colored, but it was neon instead.  I also ran out of frosting.

So I decided to scrape it all off an start again.

I made bunny shaped rolls.

Deviled eggs

Dinner!

I had used all of the confectioners sugar on the first batch of frosting.  So we had to use whipping cream and regular sugar to make whipped cream frosting.  Our mixing bowl and attachment were in the dishwasher so we had to whip it by hand!  The neon frosting was all stuck to the original cake so I used a biscuit cutter to make the cake smaller.  We had just enough whipped frosting to cover it.
