1st Day of School 2024

The kids had their first day of school yesterday!  Harper is in 4th grade and Ethan is in 1st grade.  Harper unfortunately was sent home early as she wasn't feeling well.  We found out today that she has strep throat.  So much for being healthy all summer only to get sick the first day of school.  Hopefully Ethan doesn't catch it!  Ethan had a great first day of school and is very happy to have his best friend in his class.

Last Week of Summer

The kids just finished their last week of summer.  They were able to meet their teachers and are looking forward to the new school year.

Harper spent a day with Nanna last week cooking all day!  They made a wonderful dinner for us!

Ghost cake!

Homemade pizza!

Little Lu loves pizza boxes and pizza crust.

We went to Vincent's birthday party.  The kids had a blast!

We met Kate and Sean at Windy Hill Apple Orchard for apple cider and donuts.  This is a month earlier than we normally go, but we were feeling the fall vibes after the nice weather last week.

They usually have pumpkins for sale here, but we were too early.  The kids pretended to be pumpkins instead.

We ate dinner at Kate and Sean's house.

Kids in Cary

The kids went to Cary last Thursday for a weekend with the grandparents.  They had a blast!  There was hiking at Eno River State Park, a yummy donut run, afternoons at Great Grandma's pool, special playgrounds, cookie making and lots of playing.  They have not stopped talking about all the fun they had since they have been home!
