The kids have had off of school since last Wednesday. I had to work quite a bit over the break, but Alex has been keeping the kids busy!
We went to the Charlotte Thanksgiving Eve Parade Wednesday night. We had reserved bleacher seats for this year so we could sit.
The kids got candy!
We left a little early to walk to dinner. We saw Santa's float on the way!
We stopped by the Bank of America Stadium tree on the way back to the car. The tree is from a farm in Western North Carolina.
Alex and the kids celebrated Thanksgiving with Nanna and Grandad.
Alex took the kids ice skating with some friends on Friday at the White Water Center. The kids had so much fun and can't wait to go back!
We have plans to go back with Kate in a week at night time. I can't wait to see the White Water Center with all the pretty lights!
Alex, the kids, Nanna and Grandad went to see the new Moana movie Friday night. I heard it was great!
We went to a baby shower Saturday afternoon for some friends. The shower was at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. They had their Christmas Market outback so it was fun to wander around after the shower.
Harper started her indoor soccer league Sunday morning. It was her team's first time playing indoors and they had no substitutes, but they played well and didn't complain. It was super fun to watch them learn to play indoor!
Harper had a little time as goalie.
Ethan and I went to a holiday tea at Sophia's Lounge. He had been a little jealous that Harper had a tea party and he didn't so we decided to do a special mother-son event. It was amazing!!
Sophia's Lounge was a holiday wonderland so beautifully decorated.
Ethan was able to keep this little bear!
The food was fantastic.
Ethan had hot chocolate with marshmallows, peppermint and rock candy.
Santa came around to each table to talk to the guests.
We had scones to start then a savory course.
The dessert was Ethan's favorite, no surprise.
We got to take pictures with Santa too!
We went to Winterfest at Carowinds Sunday night. They have beautiful holiday lights and performances! My key to doing holiday activities around Charlotte with less crowds is to do them on school nights. It makes a huge difference!
Our first stop on this chilly night was Starbucks to get some warm drinks.
Then we watched the tree lighting ceremony. There was singing and dancing then the tree lit up and "snow" started to fall!
So pretty!
The kids wrote and mailed letters to Santa.
Stamping the letter!
