We have had a lot of winter weather the past two weeks! Last weekend, we had an ice storm that started late Saturday and went into Sunday night. There was nothing fun about it. I had to drive into work Sunday night and it was difficult, but Monday morning was totally fine. The kids had off last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then had a two hour delay on Thursday and Friday. This weekend, it started snowing Friday night and we woke up Saturday to a few inches of powdery snow! It continued to snow all day Saturday and we ended up with eleven inches!!! Very rare and unexpected for Charlotte! We had a great weekend playing in the snow.
The kids also had the Friday before last Monday off from school for a teacher work day. Harper went with Amelia's family on an eight mile hike.
Harper spent the night at their house and had a great time.
I used my Friday night and Saturday of last weekend to finish my room. I painted the walls and ceiling to complete my picture frame molding project.
I like it, but would like it better if the floors were a dark hardwood. We will have to wait for that in the budget.
Ice is not fun to play in, but the kids enjoyed it anyway.

My partner had gotten me a delicious donut for driving into work last Sunday night.
The kids went to Emily and Frank's house last Monday to hang out.
The kids had some work at home to do from school. They also went with Alex to curling.
This weekend, Charlotte was forecast to receive four to seven inches of snow. We got a sled in preparation. The kids practiced riding it on Friday in the house.
Harper and I have been reading her Christmas books by the fire. We finished her first Stephen King book, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. It was great! We are now reading Bridge to Terabithia.
When we woke up on Saturday, there was already two to three inches of snow on the ground.

There is a big hill behind our neighborhood. The pictures don't do it justice. It was fun!
Lu and I rode down the hill on a sled. She also went with Harper.
After an hour, Lu's paws were too cold! She rode home in my coat.

Alex and I took naps this weekend. When we were napping, Harper was out with other neighbors still playing!
Sunday was a sunny day and melted a lot of the snow.
We enjoyed more snow angels and sledding with neighbors.
Alex and Ethan had story time too.
