I have no idea what my family did last weekend as I was at the hospital for most of it and Alex didn't take any pictures! Whenever I am stuck at the hospital, I get ideas of projects I want to do. We are changing Harper's bed to a loft bed with a built in desk in preparation for middle school. This inspired me to make a few changes her her room!
The kids had another teacher work day this last Friday. Alex and the kids went to Winston Salem to babysit Rory for the morning. They spent the night on Thursday. The kids were in heaven playing with Rory.

We started Saturday morning with Harper's soccer game. It was an intense game and I didn't take any pictures. After the game, the kids went out for breakfast then had curling practice. I went home to start my project.
I decided to do a board and batten project in Harper's room. I ordered wallpaper for the upper part of the wall. I have no idea when that will arrive and I have no intention of installing it myself.
Luckily, I had my miter saw to help me with this project! The angles were very tricky! I left the saw in the garage this time so I walked approximately 12,000 steps back and forth for all of my pieces.
The walls are most certainly not straight. Most angles needed a forty-five degree cut, but there were two others needing a twenty-two degree cut and a twenty-four degree cut.
I decided to add beading under the top ledge to give it a more feminine look. It kind of matches Harper's bed spread.
I still have to paint the wall and boards, but I am on call yet again so my project will have to wait.
I did have to help a neighbor kid with a big cut this weekend. He was sweet and brought me this afterwards.
Harper went to Blowing Rock with Amelia's family to hike on Sunday.
