Ellen and Justin's Wedding Weekend

After driving back from Hilary and Shawn's wedding in New Hampshire, Alex and I spent only one day in Philadelphia before it was time to head off to the next wedding.  Ellen and Justin got married this past weekend in Colorado.  We have been looking forward to their wedding for a year!  We arrived in Colorado a few days before the ceremony so that we could spend time with the Scheers, the Schneiders, the Prommersbergers, and the bride and groom.  It was nice hanging out with the entire tribe and the wedding celebrations were amazing.  Ellen and Justin could not have picked a more picturesque location to hold their perfect wedding.  We had a blast and are so happy for the newlyweds!

While Emily and Ellen were busy with wedding requirements, Frank, Alex and I went to visit Frank's family in Evergreen.  We were able to meet Frank's uncle, Jurgin, who Frank stayed with as a high school exchange student from Germany.  It was this uncle and his wife, Sheila, who introduced Frank to America and, lucky for us, left an impression that would convince him to move back.  This is the amazing view from the porch!

Alex and I found deer in the back yard.

Dave, Alex and I went to Dinosaur Ridge to look at dinosaur fossils!

Years back, construction crews found dinosaur fossils and imprints of dinosaur foot steps while trying to pave a road through the mountains.  The site is now preserved, protected and available to the public for tours!

When the dinosaurs left these prints, they were walking on flat ground on ancient sea beds in Denver.  Only as earthquakes created the mountains and pushed up the ground did the prints appear to walk up hill.

Ellen and Justin got married at the Manor House in Littleton, Colorado.  Alex and Frank were ushers in the wedding, Emily was the maid of honor, and Dave was the ceremony musician so we were all invited to the rehearsal!

The Manor House is situated on a hill overlooking town and is at the base of beautiful mountains.

The big day was beautiful with bright blue skies.  Janet and Bruce walked Ellen down the aisle.

It was a super windy day so Ellen's veil only lasted about ten seconds.  Emily was quick to pull it off so that the photographer could actually see Ellen's face.

The couple mixed a unity cocktail during their ceremony.  It was the cocktail they enjoyed in Paris after getting engaged.  Each ingredient represented a different quality of their relationship.  It was awesome!

We were able to meet Eric's girlfriend, Andrea.  They were super cute together.

Each table was a different city the couple has been to.  We sat the the Paris table with the parents of the bride!

  1. I loved the choice of venue for the wedding, the place is just stunning. My husband and I have also booked one of the most beautiful wedding venues Los Angeles for our grand wedding anniversary celebrations next weekend. It’s been 5 years since we’ve been married and this year’s celebration is going to be quite a grand affair.
