Thirty-Four Weeks: Butternut Squash Baby

Thirty-four weeks used to be a milestone in obstetrics where beyond this point, you would no longer require steroids for fetal lung maturity if a mom goes into preterm labor.  Now we give steroids all the way up to thirty-seven weeks if preterm delivery is suspected.  Luckily, we have shown no signs of preterm monkey business.  Alex and I pulled all of Harper's infant equipment out of the attic today.  It was so cute to see her infant car seat, pack and play, bouncer, and bottles again!  We started to pack our hospital bag this weekend as well.  My favorite part of packing the bag so far has been picking my postpartum candy rewards.  Thirty-four week fetuses weigh in at at least four pounds and measure around seventeen inches.
