Thursday - It's Just a Bunch of Hocus Pocus

Thursday was our first morning at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  I woke up to get a lightening lane and individual attraction passes, then went back to sleep for an hour.  We ate breakfast in the lounge then were at Animal Kingdom by 10am.  Two hours later than normal!!

It was great to see the view from our room in the day light.  There were no critters outside our room in the morning, however.

We headed to Dinoland first to ride Dinosaur.

The ride was fun, but a bit scary for Ethan!

Next, it was over to Asia to ride Expedition Everest, my first lightening lane.

The details in Animal Kingdom were stunning.

After we rider switched Expedition Everest, we went back to Dinoland to ride Tricera Top Spin.

The Tree of Life was beautiful.  There are over three hundred animals carved into the tree.

We headed over to Pandora for our next lightening lanes.

Pandora was amazing.  I took a million pictures.

We rode Na'vi River Journey together.

The sights and sounds were breathtaking.

Our individual attraction selection was Flight of Passage.  I can't even explain how amazing this ride was. It was a close second behind Guardians for me.  They again used all of the senses (other than taste) in this ride.  Ethan was too short to ride so he hung out while we did rider switch.  After the rides, we ate lunch at Satu'li Canteen.  I loved being able to make my meal choices on my phone a few hours before lunch and just showing up with my food ready to go when it was time to eat.  We avoided waiting in lines whenever we could.

We did It's Tough to be a Bug next.  It was a neat show with creepy crawly additions!

After the morning and early afternoon at Animal Kingdom, we headed back to our lodge to go swimming.

The animals were out and about for their lunch!  We saw zebras, giraffes, impala, gazelles, ostrich and cranes.

Animal chocolate!

We went for a soak in the hot tub.  Harper tried the slide too.

We had tickets to Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party Thursday night.  They close the park to everyone without a ticket.  The party officially starts at 7pm and runs until midnight, but you can get into the park earlier.  The park has special character meet and greets, Halloween ride overlays, trick-or-treating and special food, parades, shows and fireworks for the event.  There is a lot to pack into several hours!  They have Halloween music playing throughout the park and tons of spooky lights and fog.  We dressed as Padme, Anakin, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker.

We started with Haunted Mansion, of course.

Harper wanted to ride It's a Small World again.

We hit a few trick-or-treating spots.

We rode the Mad Hatter again in Halloween style!

Space Mountain is changed to complete darkness during the Halloween party.  Harper and I rode it again.

I was most excited for the Villain Spectacular.  It is a show with the Sanderson sisters and the villains from all the Disney movies.  The Sanderson witches sang "I Put a Spell on You," my favorite Halloween song!  It was amazing!

We had pretty good seats for the Villain Spectacular and the Boo to You Parade.

The Headless Horseman started the parade!

We went back to get our stroller from the Rapunzel bathroom area after the parade.

Jack Skellington started the fireworks show.  We had a front and center view.

This was my favorite fireworks show!

Harper fell asleep during the fireworks and Ethan shortly after.  Alex and I got a late dinner at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe.
