Iceland Day 10

Day 10 in Iceland was a day of waterfalls.

We started with a less visited waterfall, Kvernufoss.

We were excited for a sunny day.

You could walk behind this waterfall.

We had our raincoats and waterproof pants.

After Kvernufoss, we headed to Skogafoss, a very well known waterfall.  We had lunch in the parking lot.

It was very busy!

We walked up to the waterfall for a people-free photo.

Next, we climbed 500 stairs to the top of Skogafoss.

We walked a bit down the river feeding into Skogafoss.  We saw several waterfalls along the way.

Next up was Seljalandsfoss.  Ethan fell asleep on the way there.

This is another well known waterfall that you could walk behind.  It is much bigger than Kvernufoss.

A short hike from Seljalandsfoss is Gljufrabui, a waterfall within a cave.  We passed a couple waterfalls on the way there.

We had to climb into this cave through a shallow stream.

This was the entrance to the cave.

We had lattes and pastries after our waterfalls.

The last waterfall of the day was Gluggafoss.

It was nice to visit a waterfall without the crowds.

We decided to climb to the top of the waterfall.

We kept going back farther and farther and kept finding more waterfalls.

It was a very steep climb!

The water was so clear!  You can drink from these streams.

Our campsite was peaceful.

The kids enjoyed another jumping bubble.
