Iceland Day 13

Wednesday night was our last night in the RV.  We had rented an airbnb for Thursday night to get ready for our flight home.  We had coffee by our waterfall Thursday morning.

Last RV breakfast!

There was one last hot spring I wanted to visit called Hrunalaug.  The hot spring adjacent to the little hut was used to wash sheep starting in the 1800s (they stopped this in 1980).  Part of the hot spring was used for laundry and then a third part was added several years ago to help with volume of visitors.

The "sheep" bath was the hottest.  It was Ethan's favorite.

This was the laundry area.

The pool in the back was added after 2000.

We went to see Geysir, the original geyser all others are named after.

Strokkur was fun to watch as it erupted every four minutes while we were there.

Happy year of the geyser!

Our last waterfall was Bruarfoss.  It was going to be another four mile hike, but they finished a road and parking lot a few weeks ago so it was only a five minute walk!  We loved the bright blue water color.

We stopped for ice cream one last time at Efstidalur.

They had the cows who helped make the ice cream outside the window.

Kerid Crater

It was so nice to have a real shower!
